Salomon Smith Barney has made three hires in its private equity business, which raises funds for venture capital firms as well as other alternative asset managers.

SSB recruited Susanna Hong as a senior salesperson after five years at Merrill Lynch's private investment group. She will focus on the origination and distribution of funds in the UK and selected continental European countries.
