Standard Chartered keeps bonus pool for staff at $1.6bn

Standard Chartered kept its bonus pool in line with 2022, its biggest payments since the 2008 financial crisis

Standard Chartered maintained its hefty bonus pool for staff after revenue increased 10% at the emerging markets focused bank in 2023.

The UK-headquartered bank earmarked $1.6bn for staff bonuses, in line with 2022. Last year, Standard Chartered increased bonuses by 16% — its biggest pool since the 2008 financial crisis.
