Standard Life Investments, the fund management business of UK life assurer Standard Life, has strengthened its fixed interest and equity teams by hiring Alasdair MacLean and Reg Watson.

MacLean will join Standard Life Investments next Tuesday as a member of the fixed interest team with responsibility for European credit analysis and portfolio construction. He was previously a director in the high-yield credit research team at CIBC World Markets, which he joined in 2001 after spending four years as a high-yield analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
