State Street Corporation, the financial services specialists, has hired Tony Phillips, former head of pensions at Xerox, UK the print firm, to head its London-based consultant management team.

The appointment comes as State Street continues its hiring spree after 3,100 employees, 2,300 more than expected, took advantage of the voluntary redundancy option earlier this year.
