State Street Global Advisors, the investment management unit of financial services firm State Street, has named Peter Leahy to the newly created position of chief product officer.

In his new role, Leahy will oversee the entire product development process and manage State Street's existing product lineup. He will also be responsible for regularly assessing and modifying the firm's existing products.
