State Street shakes up European investment leadership

The $2.6tn investment house has a new European chief executive and chairman

Mike Karpik, who has led State Street's asset management arm in Europe, the Middle East and Africa since 2012, is to leave after 19 years with the company.

Karpik, who joined State Street Global Advisors in 1999 as a senior fund manager, is to hand over the chief executive role to Cuan Coulter. The move will follow a transitional period over the summer, the company confirmed today.
