GorillaPark, the technology incubator headquartered in Amsterdam, was hit hard by the tech downturn last year, halving headcount and reducing cash burn from €4m to €1m a month.

But its corporate comms director, Bob Stirling, has perhaps taken the concept of streamlining a bit too much to heart. He has decided to cycle to and from work every day to shed some middle-aged pounds.
