UK's first megayacht marina escapes government cuts

A new superboat project in Southampton is looking to lure wealthy yacht owners from the Mediterranean

The police force, schools and pensioners are all going to be victims of the UK Government's budget cuts. But fortunately for the world's superboat owners, one project which has escaped austerity measures is a megayacht marina in Southampton - the first of its kind in the UK.

Solent Refit, the deep water marina and refitting yard with mooring space for vessels up to 100m, was originally run as a US army base for vessels being prepared for the war.
