T Rowe Price has hired a former head of European dealing at rival manager AllianceBernstein to its Sydney office, as competitive forces increase interest and complexity in the Australian equities market.

Richard Nelson, formerly head of dealing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Alliance, has joined T Rowe as an equities trader, overseeing dealing in Australian and New Zealand listed securities, according to a statement.
