Eurex has overcome a vital hurdle in its bid to compete in the Chicago futures market, after The Clearing Corporation's (TCC) shareholders voted to team up with the European exchange.

TCC shareholders have rebuffed strong lobbying from Eurex's Chicago rivals and backed a restructuring plan that clears the way for the company to act as clearer for Eurex.
