Teck Cominco mines Inco with Merrill

Merrill Lynch Canada and BMO Nesbitt Burns are advising Teck Cominco, the world's largest zinc miner, on its unsolicited $16.1bn (€12.7bn) offer for Inco, the second-largest nickel miner, a deal that would create the largest mining company in North America.

Merrill holds the top spot of global mining league tables compiled by Dealogic, the investment banking research provider. BMO Nesbitt Burns is number 6.
