Telecoms bid spoils Rothschild for choice

Neuf Télécom, the French internet service provider, is understood to have made an offer to buy the French operations of Italian telecoms group Tiscali. The bid is believed to have forced Rothschild to choose between the two.

Neuf, which is controlled by Louis Dreyfus, a French conglomerate, made the offer on December 27th, according to a report in La Tribune.
