About 10 years ago, I remember asking one of the most senior women on Wall Street about sexual harassment. Had she experienced it herself? Of course, she replied, as if it was a stupid question. But things were much better now than they had been when she first started in the business, she added.

In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, I recently asked the same question to one of the most senior women in the City. The answer was similar. It was really bad 10 or 20 years ago but things have improved a lot, she said.
