The UK's nationwide lockdown lasted too long, Imperial College's David Miles says

This spring's nationwide lockdown may have caused more damage than the virus itself, economists told the Treasury Committee.

“It looks like a three-month lockdown was coming at an extremely high price relative to the health benefits,” David Miles, a professor at Imperial College London, told the committee of MPs. "I think the first harsh lockdown that began in mid-March was kept in place for too long.”
