With the 158th boat race between Oxford and Cambridge taking place this weekend, Financial News looks at some former blues plying their trade in the Square Mile

Early mornings, punishing work schedules, arch rivalries, supreme levels of dedication, teamwork and commitment – and a painful amount of time spent in tight-fitting lycra. The life of an Oxbridge rower sounds remarkably similar to that of an investment banker (excluding the lycra).

So it is little wonder that many rowing blues turn to the Square Mile for gainful employment once their degree ceremonies are over.
