Ski someday

The sharp end

Somewhere in France in the early 1950s, the belief was born that the traditional Swiss approach to skiing was all wrong.

The punters, they argued, didn't want clanking lifts that took an hour to get to the slopes, they didn't ever want to take their skis off and certainly didn't want narrow mountain couloirs or forest tracks as part of their ski experience.
