Mike Crawshaw, former co-head of European equity research at Citigroup, may be on his way out of the industry, but his younger brother, James, is bravely carrying on the family tradition in the ever-tougher analyst profession.

As a technology equipment analyst at Citigroup, James has so far evaded the swathe of job cuts across the department and even assumed coverage of stocks for Mark Davies-Jones, a former colleague who left during the last round of cuts in March. Sadly, Dickie Dale, former fellow co-head with Mike, who has also quit the business, has no such dynasty to keep an eye on events at Citigroup for him from afar.
