On a more serious note, the tide of new entrants exploiting internet in-vestment opportunities in the last few months continues to wash up old wine in new bottles. European Digital Partners (EDP) offers vintage claret in the form of Maurice Thompson and Jonathan Asquith, both erstwhile swinging dicks at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. Thompson was formerly global head of investment banking and a member of the DMG board, while Asquith was both chief financial officer and chief operating officer of DMG. Armed with $100m (E103m) of cash from buy-out kings Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, they should not really have too much trouble opening a few doors.
