There seem to be so many people rowing the Atlantic solo nowadays that there must always be someone to chat to – or ask the way. Roz Savage, the latest to clamber aboard, was practising on the calmer waters at Henley-on-Thames last week. Savage, 37, used to be an IT project manager at UBS in London working from the annexe in Upper Thames Street. "I wish I could say I used to gaze out of the window and look at the river," she says. "But I was not important enough to have a window."
