Sir Eddie George made a lovely quip about his imminent departure from the world stage during his swansong speech to the Bankers and Merchants annual dinner at Mansion House in London last week.

"I'm very much looking forward to retiring to Cornwall," he said. "However, I shall have to get used to not being Who's Who, but Who's He?"
