The wealthy move back into equities, but remain fearful

Wealthy investors have increased their allocation to equities but retain large holdings in bonds and cash, due to uncertainty about future investment prospects, triggered by recent events.

A survey from Scorpio Partnership revealed that allocations to equities in a balanced portfolio by the wealth management industry had risen to 49% in the last quarter of 2009, compared with 37% in the first quarter in 2009.
