Presidents Club co-chair quits Department for Education post

David Meller has stepped down from his role as a non-executive director of the Department for Education, after reports that a charitable trust he co-chairs held a dinner where hostesses were sexually harassed.

Jess Phillips, the MP for Birmingham Yardley, tabled an 'urgent question' in Parliament today about Meller's role in the affair and his suitability for the post at the department. During those questions Anne Milton, the Education Minister, revealed that Meller was stepping down.
