For the City, the last 12 months proved to be a record year in minting new billionaires, as Britain created more wealthy businesspeople during the pandemic than at any other time in the last three decades.

This year’s Sunday Times Rich List identified a significant amount of wealth added on to the fortunes of the Square Mile’s top hedge fund managers, whose combined fortunes add up to £20.5bn.
