Third Point sues rival in company name row

Third Point, the US hedge fund run by activist investor Daniel Loeb, has filed a lawsuit against a rival, founded last year by three former Euromarket pioneers, in a row understood to be over the similarity of its name.

The suit, filed at Delaware District Court last month, alleges infringement of a trademark and intellectual property by TriPoint Asset Management.
