Tyler Perry loves when people say he came from “humble beginnings.”

To the high school dropout, that just means a “dirt poor” upbringing, which was most definitely the case for Perry. He was raised in poverty and spent time roaming the streets of New Orleans as a homeless playwright searching for a break.
