Thomson buys Carson Group

Thomson Corporation has announced that it will acquire US financial information services firm Carson Group, just a month after Thomson Financial bought rival Primark for $842m.

Thomson said that it wants to strengthen its advisory service offerings, and combine the two groups' equity capital markets tools. Carson's capital market intelligence and investment banking services will be integrated into Thomson's corporate group.
