Thomson buys TradeWeb for $385m

Thomson Corporation, the Canadian Information firm, has bought TradeWeb, the online bond exchange, for $385m (€320m) in cash with an earn-out clause of up to $150m over the next three years if TradeWeb meets profit targets.

Thomson employed JP Morgan Securities as its adviser on the transaction and TradeWeb's owners were advised by Morgan Stanley.
