Thomson Financial is to compile separate M&A tables for brokers for the first time at the end of the first quarter of 2001.

The financial information group says it believes the role of the M&A financial adviser and the ECM adviser will remain distinct in the foreseeable future. In recognition of this, Thomson has decided to introduce a new quarterly league table intended to &quotcapture the role played by the ECM adviser.&quot
