Thomson wins £100m Merrill deal as Reuters pulls bid

Thomson Financial, the financial information and systems arm of Thomson Corporation, has won the lucrative deal to provide Merrill Lynch with private client systems after Reuters dropped out of the bidding process Monday night.

The deal, which is tipped to be worth about $100m (€900m) a year, includes provision of wealth management systems to support all of Merrill's financial advisers.
