Thousands of staff at the Financial Conduct Authority are working from home as part of a drill to test the City watchdog’s preparedness for a widespread coronavirus outbreak.

Half of the FCA’s roughly 4,000 workers in London and Edinburgh were told to work remotely on Friday, according to a spokeswoman. Staff will return on Monday.
