Threadneedle Investments has hired David Backhouse as an investment grade analyst to its fixed income team, the third appointment in as many months following the hires of Simon Bond from Axa Investment Managers and Quentin Fitzsimmons from F&C Management.

Backhouse's appointment will bring the number of analysts in the team to 12. He joins Threadneedle from Gartmore Investment Management with five years' industry experience.
