Jeremy Podger, head of global equities at Threadneedle, will leave the firm in the new year to join Fidelity International, having been named as successor to run Anthony Bolton's old international special-situations portfolio.
Bolton, a star Fidelity manager who retired in 2006 after decades of benchmark-beating returns, was so well-regarded by the time he stepped down that Fidelity did not fully replace him. Instead, his flagship £6bn fund was split in two, a global and a UK version.
