Three former Barclays bankers cleared of Qatar fraud charges

Roger Jenkins, Richard Boath and Thomas Kalaris cleared over financial crisis-era dealings with the Qatar Investment Authority

The UK’s Serious Fraud Office has suffered defeat in its case against former Barclays executives over their financial crisis-era dealings with Qatar, with three bankers cleared of fraud charges on Friday.

The defendants, Roger Jenkins, the former executive chair of Barclays’ investment bank, Richard Boath, one-time head of bank financing, and Thomas Kalaris, its former head of wealth management, were all acquitted.
