It's time to focus on DC pensions

The elephant in the room of institutional pensions needs to take centre stage

They account for almost half the money in the institutional pensions industry, and are growing almost three times as quickly as the other half, yet they have attracted far less attention than they deserve. The time has come for defined contribution pensions to take centre stage.

Defined contribution pensions, or DC, bear a passing similarity to defined benefit schemes. You might expect to get one or other of them if you work for a medium-sized or large company in the UK.
