Senior female investment bankers are paid £73,000 less than their male counterparts, reinforcing long-held assertions of gender inequality within investment banking.

According to exclusive data given to Financial News, women holding the rank of managing director are paid 13% less on average than their male banking colleagues each year, a figure that jumps to 27% or £225,000 for those women working for US banks.
