Tradepoint has hit back at criticism that iX will make it defunct by saying it will have a pan-European exchange established long before its rival does.

Steve Wilson, director of business development at Tradepoint, said on Friday: 'Of course iX might be a success, but the devil is in the detail. We still have to see if iX can deliver.'
