Ken Jacobs, the veteran dealmaker who headed independent investment bank Lazard for 14 years, is set to step down.

Jacobs is expected to be replaced by Peter Orszag, who runs its financial advisory unit and was previously an adviser to former President Barack Obama. Jacobs, 64, will remain at the firm and will work with clients.
