SocGen's investment bank creates combined research team
Societe Generale's corporate and investment banking division has named Andrew Lapthorne as the head of a newly-formed quantitative research group, which integrates its teams covering quantitative equity, cross-asset quantitative, exchange traded funds and index research. Lapthorne is based in London and reports to Brigitte Richard-Hidden, global head of research for SocGen CIB. He will continue to lead equity quant research. Other senior members of the group are: London-based Sandrine Ungari, head of cross-asset quant research, who will be deputy head of the new group; Paris-based Sebastien Lemaire, who leads ETF research; and London-based John Carson, who heads index research.
Deutsche adds passive funds sales specialist
Deutsche Bank's funds arm has appointed an executive to its team responsible for passive product sales. Martin Johansson joins Deutsche Asset Management's Global Client Group, Passive, with a focus on Swedish and Finnish asset and wealth managers and private banks. He is based in Stockholm and reports to Peter Lidblom, passive sales specialist for the Nordics, who joined Deutsche at the end of last year. Johansson previously worked as head of sales trading at Neonet Securities in Stockholm. Prior to that he was a London-based sales trader at Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank.
