TransferWise, one of London's biggest fintech startups, has raised $280m through a funding round led by Old Mutual Global Investors and venture capital backer of Twitter, IVP.
The fundraising comes as the firm enters its next growth phase under new chief executive Kristo Käärman, who co-founded the online money transfer platform with Taavet Hinrikus in 2010. Hinrikus served as CEO until July, when he handed over the reins. He is still chairman of the firm.
