Treasury has no plans to implement ‘misguided’ WFH tax

Deutsche Bank proposal would have increased effective rate to 45% for higher-rate taxpayers who always work remotely

The Treasury has no plans to impose an additional tax on people who opt to work from home. Experts labelled the proposal by Deutsche Bank as a “misguided” idea that could cause job losses.

“We have no plans to introduce a tax on working from home," a Treasury spokesperson said. A Deutsche Bank spokesperson declined to comment.
