Tribunal overturns FCA decision to ban ex-Barclays Wealth boss

The reversal followed the Upper Tribunal’s decision not to uphold the UK regulator's course of action against Andrew Tinney

The Financial Conduct Authority’s decision to ban the former chief operating officer of Barclays Wealth from working in the UK’s financial services industry has been overturned.

The regulator said on August 16 that the UK’s Upper Tribunal had not upheld a 2016 decision to ban Andrew Tinney from any senior management or “significant influence functions” at a regulated financial service provider.
