Trump asks SEC to look at ditching quarterly reporting

US President Donald Trump has asked the country’s markets regulator to look into scrapping quarterly reporting for listed businesses — something already supported by some of Wall Street’s biggest names.

Under Securities and Exchange Commission rules, public companies must disclose financial information on an ongoing basis, including every fiscal quarter in the form of a 10-Q filing.
