UBS and Standard Life Aberdeen scooped top prizes for their efforts to improve the City’s social mix last night, as finance companies work to burnish their inclusivity credentials and deflect criticism that banks are bastions of privilege.

The Swiss bank and Scottish fund manager were among several financial companies commended by the City of London Corporation, the Square Mile’s local authority, for steps to boost social mobility.
