UBS appoints dark pool CEO

Swiss bank names equities trading specialist to lead new dark pool MTF as regulators seek more transparent non-display venues

UBS has promoted a senior executive who played an important role in the development of its new non-display multi-lateral trading facility, to lead the venture ahead of its launch later this year.

Robert Barnes, who has been with UBS for over 16 years and is the bank's head of market structures, has today taken on the additional role as chief executive officer of UBS MTF, the bank's dark pool, according to a company statement.
