UBS chief executive Ralph Hamers said that the bank is not planning a hiring freeze or job cuts despite missing market expectations with its second-quarter results.

Hamers told journalists that there were "pockets of activities" where the Swiss bank was still looking to grow. These included financial adviser headcount within its wealth management unit and risk and compliance roles.
