UBS profits leap 36% in strong quarter for traders

UBS’s profits rose by 36% in the third quarter, boosted by a strong three months for its stock and bond traders.

On Thursday UBS reported pre-tax profits of CHF1.6bn ($1.6bn) for the period, on the back of 2% revenue growth to CHF7.2bn, with the bank accentuating performance across its businesses in the Americas.
