UBS has been named the leading pan-European brokerage for equity research at this year's Thomson Extel Survey awards - the third consecutive year that the investment bank has won the award.

As odds-on favourite to win the category, UBS surprised no one by walking away with the top award. Citigroup and Deutsche Bank came in second and third respectively, making the top three in the category identical to last year.
