UBS tops portfolio trading poll as costs tumble

The cost of trading baskets of shares has plummeted over the past year and is set to fall further, according to an exclusive survey of 100 of Europe's top fund management houses carried out by Financial News.

The 2004 portfolio trading survey revealed one in four fund managers had seen agency commissions drop in the past 12 months, while none had seen an increase in agency trading costs.
