A top Deutsche Bank equity capital markets banker, who was one of Financial News’ Rising Stars, has left to join Barclays Capital, where he will be reunited with two of his former colleagues.

Marco Schwartz, who once pursued a career as a professional opera singer, is to join the UK bank, which is embarking on an aggressive policy to build its European investment banking business. At Deutsche Bank, he was head of UK and financial institutions group ECM, following a promotion last year.
