RBS must add $2.5bn in capital after failing stress test

Royal Bank of Scotland must add around £2 billion ($2.5 billion) in capital after failing a Bank of England stress test, sending its shares down 4%.

The annual health checks also exposed weaknesses at two other banks, Barclays and Standard Chartered, but neither bank needs to change its capital plans.
